Warning: Limiting Beliefs ALWAYS Lead to Theft

Your business was born without limiting beliefs.

Think about when you first began your business. You had absolutely no limiting beliefs. What were the aspirations you had? What did you dream?

Deep down, if you’re in business there’s a part of you that wants to be successful…financially set for life. When you envisioned your business, you dreamed of limitless potential.

Then, somewhere between then and now, a roof was placed upon your business without you even noticing. Voices began placing limiting beliefs in your subconscious. Before even realizing it, a ceiling, or a ‘limit’ was placed on your potential.

These voices stole your potential right out from under you!

You’re Hearing Voices!

So many entrepreneurs let the opinions of others steal their dreams. They begin to have limiting beliefs for their business.

Do you have a few contacts who have questioned your ambitions?

“How are you going to be able to accomplish all that?” limiting beliefs, online business, mental skills, core beliefs, success, business

“Oh, I see, but what experience do you have?”

“Well, that’s a great idea for a business, but do you really think you’ll make that much money?”

The second you even considered these ‘voices,’ a ceiling was placed upon your business and your potential was stolen from within you.

They do NOT understand! The voices that are saying this don’t measure success by the amount of times a person fails and gets back up. They measure success by NOT failing. As entrepreneurs, you know by now that success will not come without failure first. It’s practically impossible to be successful if you haven’t failed multiple times.

The ONLY voice you should listen to is your own…the one that spoke from deep within when you started your business. When you believed in your own potential.

Dream On…and On…

It all starts with your core beliefs. You see, in the beginning, you had absolutely no ‘voices’ and no mental blocks. Your core beliefs were attached to visions and feelings of success.

Always take time out to visualize exactly what your ideal business looks like, tastes like, smells like and feels like.  In addition, spend a minute or two in this every single day and hang on tight when the ‘voices’ come.

If you begin having doubt or frustration, don’t just let it simmer. Reshape that thought into your ideal vision and think like you’re already a success.

Having said that, if you don’t catch these thoughts right away, before you know it, that ceiling will be placed on your business.

Raise the Roof

Your business aspirations and your dreams shouldn’t ever make sense to everyone. If they do, and everyone around you agrees, then you haven’t raised the roof.

You WANT the voices to question your aspirations, even doubt them.

You DO NOT want them to limit you. So consider ‘voices’ that are trying to steal your potential as a positive sign.

Actionable Steps:

1) Take The Ceiling Quiz

Here’s some questions to help you determine if you’ve raised the roof on your business and its potential:

Each night, do you go to sleep eager to dig into your business tomorrow?

Do you wake up with passion and excitement about your business?

Do you have to sometimes leave early, come late, or miss social events because your business is so busy?

When a concept or idea doesn’t work out on the first try, do you find another way?

If you answered no to any of these questions, you have some limiting beliefs that are standing in the way of your success. You haven’t ‘raised the roof’ on your business and your potential.

2) Jump!

This is a clip from Steve Harvey and is the inspiration for this post. (Much love and gratitude for my cousin Jeanne, who found this) It’s less than five minutes long and will literally CHANGE the way you think so that you can raise the roof.

Limiting beliefs always lead to theft. Don’t ever allow someone to steal your dreams.

Wow! This is exactly what I needed.

Recent events have caused me to put limits on my business. But, I didn’t know how badly until I compared them with the points in your post. Truly an eye-opener. Great post, Lynn!

Thank you for sharing Nida. I will ask you this: If it were me doubting myself, what would you tell me? When you’re feeling the ugly ceiling and it’s constraining you, think of what you’d tell me. Then apply it to you. I happen not just to believe, but KNOW that you are unstoppable. So hang tight and hopefully we can catch up soon. Much love and respect.

Love this, great post Lynn! This is such an important subject and extremely close to my heart. I’m a work in progress, but limiting beliefs have no place in my life today. Thanks for the reminder!

Adam, Adam, Adam…I don’t even know what to say to you. I’ve watched you for a long time. While you might be a regular goofball, you have a heart of gold, and your insights have always touched me. From what I’ve noticed, you started ‘raising the roof’ in the fall and you’ve been on fire ever since. You inspire me more than you realize. I’m so excited for you and am right here cheering you on. Thanks for always supporting and encouraging me and I can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year.
